The challenge
Compact vans have room for two people inside. Families need two more beds, but a pop-top roof conversion is expensive and changes the vehicle’s structure.
What we built
A 140 cm fold-out soft shell tent mounts on low-profile cross bars and opens over the rear, leaving the sliding door free. A zip-on annex room underneath doubles as a changing room and storage space.
Result
Two extra sleeping places that bolt on and come off without modifying the van body.
